ARTIST/INSTRUCTOR

Throughout my career I have made contacts with a number of textile artists truly interested in the artistry of sewing. This shared passion was the driving force behind Papilio Sewing Studio. I chose the name Papilio because it is Latin for butterfly, a symbol of transformation. I believe as artists we are always evolving and I wanted to encourage that growth. My private home studio was opened to students in 2005 and taught everything from basic sewing skills to design classes which later branched out to business consulting for women. Consulting was both an outreach and a ministry where I encouraged women to turn their “Passions Into Profit”. When my husband and I relocated to the Quad Cities, I brought Papilio with me. I love being a part of artist lives who are pursuing their dreams and finding their own independence.
