Minitel is often described as a distinct network set apart from the Internet, but it’s better understood as a subnet.

From the early 1980s, the 3614 Teaser service, founded by Jean-Claude Michot et Jean-René Vidaud, ran a gateway which allowed minitel users to partake of USENET services, including email and newsgroups.

By 1991, Teaser-France’s message-handling service had grown to 4000 mailboxes and offered extra-Télétel distribution via dial-up modem and satellite transmission.

Graduate of ISG Paris in 1976, i began my carreer as a sales engineer for RANK-XEROX, then i was involved in the Saudi National Guard project with DUMEZ in the middle-east, Recovered and managed a 150 workers'spinning & weaving factory, before i caught the Internet Virus and co-founded France-Teaser, a network company which was the first ISP in France in the early 1990's. I sold and left France-Teaser right in time in 2000 to co-found a new company Ingeniweb in 2001.

Ingeniweb became the european leading provider of services based on the Zope application server and the Plone Content Management System. Created with the best french experts'team (authors of the reference books on Zope), Ingeniweb offered solutions targeted at their clients needs : Fortune 500 companies, government and public sector, SMEs, NGOs.

I sold part of my shares and left Ingeniweb at the end of 2006. I stayed as a Shareholder of the new group until June 2015.

Nowadays, i am what geeks call « an Internet dino » and my new challenge is to keep my One Figure Golf Index. My next challenge will be in 2018 to attend the « International Senior 2 Golf Championship » ;-)
