Julianna Samper
Moldova
Ever since moving from Colombia to the United States at the age of 14, my life has been forming around cross-cultural experiences. I have lived in different countries, adapted to different cultures and successfully made a home everywhere I have lived. All the experiences and people that have surrounded me in different periods of my life have shaped me one way or another.
While I can tell you my tag says Colombian more than American, even if I was born in New York, the truth is that I can't own either one of those tags, as I can belong anywhere I go.
Cultural adaptability is a characteristic that stands opposite of judgment, a skill that stems from curiosity and an open mind, and which I believe describes me best.
Ever since I can remember, I envisioned my life working with communities and people around the world. All my experiences growing up shaped the way I observe beauty and how I communicate with people, despite language differences.
Volunteering with the Peace Corps in Moldova, I gained the professional experience that combined with personal characteristics has given way to many successes in my work in sustainable development and communications, both fields of work I am passionate about.
