Josephine Schoppet

I am currently starting my eighth year as an elementary school librarian. I previously taught fifth grade for four years. Teaching was a career change for me, as I spent 16 years providing direct patient care as a registered nurse. My instructional certifications include: Elementary K-6, Library Science K-12, and Middle School Science 7-9.

My primary goal as a school librarian is to meet the informational needs of patrons in order to foster their growth as life-long learners. To support students in becoming effective users of information, I integrate various technology tools within my instruction. As a collaborative team, students and I have explored Wordle, Prezi, Symbaloo, Pinterest, Animoto, and Book Creator throughout many of our library lessons.
