I am married with 3 gorgeous children, whom i home educate. This is my Education Philososphy. As a parent I strive to ensure our children’s educational and social needs are met. Our approach to education is opportunity based, flexible and child centred, we don’t work to a strict timetable. We do have activities we attend regularly and we do have time set aside for some lesson based activities.
Life is a continual learning experience and we encourage learning as a constant. They will be free to learn at their own pace and follow their interests. We want to instil into them a confidence in their ability to learn and succeed. To develop a love of learning and a thirst for knowledge. We will ensure they gain an understanding of the world around them, to be respectful of it, and to have values such as compassion, self discipline, self worth. They will also be encouraged to develop practical skills, maintaining a home, understand financial management, cooking, personal care and safety.
We will aim to make learning opportunities available to the children wherever possible, covering a variety of topics and subjects, from a variety of resources. Some of which will include the internet, the library and books, local and national museums, television and radio, theatre and music, National Curriculum supporting books and DVD lessons for Maths and English.
Any specific subject the children develop an interest in, can be studied in depth, and can be tailored to cover learning objectives that woud be covered in a school.
