Janice Shack-Marquez

Janice Shack-Marquez is a leader and a leadership coach at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She has spent the past 20 years exploring how people communicate with each other at work and helping them communicate more effectively. She has been in the Division of Research and Statistics for her entire career at the Board and now is a Deputy Director there with responsibility for ensuring that the division has the tools it needs to ensure that everyone on the staff can do their best work. In the past year, she was also appointed Deputy Director in the Division of Monetary Affairs where she serves the same role. She teaches Fierce Conversations, a communications course for both managers and staff. Since she began offering this a few years ago, more than 600 members of the Board staff have attended her class. Janice holds a BA in psychology from Johns Hopkins University, a Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Pennsylvania and her leadership coaching certification from Georgetown University.
