Jeanne Skotnicki
Eden, New York
I am an English teacher at West Seneca West Senior High school in upstate New York, where I have taught since 2004. When I'm not in the classroom, I work as an education consultant, developing curriculum, conducting research through professional learning communities, and sharing the results of that work at statewide (NYSEC) and national (ASCD) educational conferences.
Teaching is learning. I challenge my students to think critically about the worlds they live in. They challenge me to reach beyond myself and be youthful in spirit.
My academic interests include educational technology, gender differences in education and nineteenth-century American literature.
I earned BA and MA in English as well as a graduate certificate in English Education from the University at Buffalo. As an undergraduate, I spent one amazing year studying at the University College of Swansea in Swansea, Wales.
