John S Martinson
Consultant, Influencer, and Blogger in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
I co-founded the China Mist Tea Company in my Scottsdale, Arizona garage in 1982 with friend, Dan Schweiker, and over 34 years co-nurtured it into a national and international foodservice iced tea brand.
In January of 2016, I earned an Executive Master of Sustainability Leadership (EMSL) from Arizona State University’s School of Sustainability, and later that year, sold China Mist and embarked on a new career path.
Currently, I am co-founder and President of the Scottsdale Electric Vehicle Association (ScottsdaleEVA.com); Board Member and Executive Producer for the American Resilience Project (www.amresproject.org); and a Steward with the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy.
I have owned 10 EVs over 23 years, beginning with a GM EV1 in 2000.
I am also the founder and admin for the Tesla Road Trippers Facebook Group (a community of 6,500+); a writer for Green Living Magazine, and a sustainability travel blogger.
My philosophy is that of "natural capitalism," promoting the protection and sustainability of nature's ecosystem services (natural capital) through market-based solutions supported by appropriate policy.
Born and raised in New York’s Hudson River Valley, I moved to Arizona in 1976 and currently reside in the upper Sonoran Desert.
I am married and the dad of 2.
