JULIAN TAN has an MBA from Oklahoma City University and a business degree from Iowa State University. He wears many hats – as consultant and facilitator of International Business Academy of Switzerland and HRP International PLT, and director of a family brick factory. He has 30 years of experience in setting up and managing business operations, sales and marketing, and international collaborations. As senior manager of business development and franchising of Nilai University, he ran the university’s franchises in Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Nepal and China to grow student enrolments. Investing in human capital development is a strong suit; as a senior he trained and mentored promising team members. As Support Manager of International Admission and Counselling of INTI Education Group, he managed the student and recruitment agent liaisons with over 20 countries to grow the student intake. As director, he sets the company’s long-term goals, optimises cost controls, forms strategic partnerships with other companies and local authorities, and work with the sales team to achieve targets.
