Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

My first home was an old, red-brick schoolhouse turned bed & breakfast in Rocheport, a small river town in central Missouri. After tumbling from the attic stairs a couple of times, we moved two blocks downhill by the Missouri River. My first memories are Andes chocolate mints, a rusty old swing set, and a Fischer-Price basketball hoop.

We moved twelve miles east to Columbia, Missouri when my sister started in the 1st grade. She is two years older than me. I was raised in Columbia and graduated from Rock Bridge High School in 2010. Throughout my junior high and high school years, my family redeveloped many old properties in downtown Columbia. In each town that I grew up in, it seems like there was always a construction project occupying my life; from historic churches in Rocheport to rundown warehouses in Columbia.

These projects and restorations led to my interest in real estate. To complement this interest, I went up north to study finance at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. I am now a senior finance major and plan to work in real estate finance, development, management, or acquisition. I believe that people can become happier and businesses can become more productive when spaces are enhanced.
