Jon Tanuvasa
Audio Engineer Live Sound in Burpengary, Australia
Jonathan Tanuvasa, known as “J-Tana” is a professional live sound engineer out of Brisbane. Starting off as a gospel and RnB musician, he would perform every weekend for religious services and youth praise concerts. This has started in his child years as early as 9 years old. By the time he reached 15, he would attain a reputable status in the Polynesian community as a “go to” keyboardist/music director.
After serving various church ministries for years on end he sought out the sound department as this was the only weak link that he did not understand. Several weeks with spending time in sound tech, he became fascinated with sound and how to work from behind the desk instead of on stage.
As a hungry student and wanting to be well equipped in the craft, he would eventually seek knowledge and education at the Brisbane SAE INSTITUTE. Through SAE he built a portfolio and made many connections with up-coming and like minded sound engineers like himself. He diligently sought for advice from lecturers and frequently practiced with his peers to define his skills and craft.
During his studies and experience at SAE, he would immerse himself completely during live sound class. His eager and quick learning, vast improvements and exemplary performance helped him stand out and would earn him the full time job role of Live Sound technician at the Australian headquarter church of First Samoan Full Gospel Inc.
After graduating from SAE, he started his own sound production business and would become one of the most sought after sound techs from the Morayfield region.
