Jon Muir
Student in Lubbock, Texas
Jon Muir is a junior Finance major at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He is set to graduate in May of 2016 with a concentration in Investments. Jon was born and raised in the West Texas city of El Paso, that stands on top of the Rio Grande and across the border from Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. His dream is to one day return the favor by going back to his hometown and starting his own businesses that will enhance the value of the city.
What distinguishes him from others is his involvement in a nearly fatal car crash in September of 2010. It was this experience that shaped Jon into the man he is today by teaching him determination, but most of all the ability to never give up. He is now an advocate for the prevention of drowsy driving and the importance of blood donation. He has partnered up with Click it or Ticket (TxDOT), and United Blood Services and is an ongoing activist.
Jon's impactful experience has given him a desire to carry these qualities into the business world. He wants to fulfill his purpose in making a difference in the lives of others, and hopes to do so by finding a company where he can employ his passion for business and that will allow him to utilize and foster his skills to the utmost of his ability.
