Joseph Trafton
Recruiter in Portland, Maine
Hello, I’m Joe. I relocated back to Maine after having pursued a PhD in International Relations and International Security. After successfully passing my doctoral exams, i accepted postdoctoral lecturships in Rhode Island and Tennessee respectively. I taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses including US Foreign Policy, International Crime, Terrorism, and a 250-student Intro to International Politics lecture. The lesson I learned from the year and a half I lived in Tennessee was that I am a Northerner to the core. So much so, I decided to remain in Maine despite a growing scarcity in positions i'm qualified to teach throughout all of New England. Perhaps one day I will return to the classroom, but in the meantime I will continue growing ProConnect LLC, the small recruiting company my partner and I cofound a little over three years ago. Lastly, about a year ago I adopted a third hat. On the weekends, I wear my newly acuired UBER-driver hat. I enjoy helping people get home safely after a night out, especially if it includes driving in the middle of a snow storm.
