Working as a personal trainer for nearly five years has reinforced lessons I've been learning my whole life pertaining to growth; progress; change. One lesson: if I desire some sort of change in my life, I have to take action rather than waiting around to be in the right mood. Any action is successful, whether it seems so or not. With action, I learn what I am capable of, or what I currently lack that is needed to get where I want to be. If my eyes are set on progress, both can help direct my journey forward.
Taking action takes courage, determination, and truly is a leap of faith into the unknown territory of change. These leaps have led me to wonderful places: teaching, training, leading, always learning, exploring remote places by foot and bicycle, meeting my husband and amazing friends, and learning that patience and attitude are everything.
Lesson two: Change is uncomfortable, but 'uncomfortable' is necessary for growth and growth cannot happen without something changing.
Lesson three: It's nice having company to encourage you and provide perspective (like reminding you of the alternative if you give up your momentum).
I enjoy the results of growth and change. They are often tough journeys, but result in great stories and stronger character! I love being a part of my clients' journeys, and would love to assist more people in their process of change.
