Hello, my name is Juan Arellano and I am a Colombian-Canadian young professional with a strong passion in International Affairs, International Development, and Social Justice.

I attended York University in Toronto, Canada where I received a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in International Development Studies and Sociology. During my undergraduate career I was awarded the York International Internship Program scholarship and the Academic Sessional Award for maintaining a 3.8 GPA.

Upon graduation I worked in the non-for-profit sector for a year and then enrolled in the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs NPSIA in Ottawa, Canada where I specialized in Global Political Economy and International Development.

My main areas of interest and research are Global Political Economy and International Development. I have a solid background and understanding of the political economies in Latin America and also have a special interest for social development focusing particularly in the grass-roots community level.
