Juan D. Miller
Cincinnati, Ohio, United States
In 1958 I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I was raised. My father was an African American landscaper, and my mother was a White housekeeper. I was the only child of a single parent home. I have fought life long battles with both bi-polar disorder and epilepsy. After having brain surgery in 1997 my seizures subsided. And due to new innovations in psychotropic medications, my mental illness is now under control. In 2001 & 2004 I was blessed with my two daughters: Eileen & Anna Joy. After 36 years of trying, I graduated college in 2013. My favorite philosopher is Ralph Waldo Emerson, and his thoughts on self-reliance. My passions are art, documentary, and the African American Community. I only hope that I can return to life, half of what it has given me. JDM
