Juan Carmona Fernández

Madrid, Spain.

Juan Carmona obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering from the University Carlos III of Madrid.

He worked as assistant researcher for differents projects at Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, some of them:

-"Proyecto Odisea" collaborative project with Geocisa, "Geotecnia y Cimientos S.A.".(Keywords: image proccessing, OpenCV, MIL Matrox, roads,C++)
-"Sercore project" developed in SERCORE TECH Headcquarters and Carlos III University of Madrid. .(Keywords: CANbus, microprocessors,C, LabWindows )

In parallel to this work, he was studying a Master's degree in Robotics and Automation from the same university.
Currently, his thesis is developing. This is focused on analyzing and classifying driver behavior. The proposal offers a novel contribution based on a low-cost hardware and advance software capabilities based on data fusion. It takes advantage of the information provided by the in-vehicle sensors using CANbus, an IMU(Inertial Unit Measurements) and a GPS-sensor.

In addition, information obtained from computer vision is being added to the expert system. Images captured through the visible spectrum(normal camera, RGB or HSV..), and spectrum not visible (Infrared images). Performing a computer image data in both 2D and 3D.
Thesis Keywords: CANbus, computer vision, kinect, Image 3D, IR camera.

Also, He is a member of the Intelligent Systems Lab, LSI, within the Department of Systems and Automation Engineering of the Universidad Carlos III.
