Juan Escobedo is a San Diego native who moved to Los Angeles to study Acting & Directing at the California State University, Los Angeles where he received The Kennedy Center's Meritorious Award for The Dream of Kitamura. After graduating, Juan worked in underserved communities managing a county grant for HIV and teen pregnancy prevention using theater skits.

Juan Escobedo is an ward winning director. He has received numerous awards around the world, including Conscious Art Award at the Wine Country Film Festival, 2008; Swiss Cultural Department for the Best Short Film under 4 minutes at the Cannes Film Festival, 2008 and The Silver Palm Award at The Mexican Film Festival in 2009. In 2012 he was nominated for the prestigious Imagen Award and the CLIO for the Sexy Rubber Campaign.

Juan is currently directing and producing interactive short films for HIV & substance abuse and smoking cessation prevention for the University of Michigan. He was also responsible for the development of the S4E APP to be used with the films.

In October 2015, Juan will be directing his personal short film currently titled Marisol in collaboration with Self Help Graphics and TELASOFA.
