JUANITA GOVEA
Musician, Student, and Leadership in Texas
Hello, my name is Juanita Govea. I was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and i am blessed to be here in the United States. Moving into Texas at just two years old, i never knew how much this situation would affect my life. Unfortunately, the majority of kids around the world don’t have the opportunity to receive the same excellent education our citizens in America do. This is why one of the strongest strengths i possess is being compassionate about others. I may not have the same status most of my peers do but this does not stop me from being successful.
To this day, Music and Art have been the building blocks for my self-motivation. This is my seventh year playing Flute and I am currently one of the Drum Majors in the Anna High School Marching Band-specifically field captain/flute section leader. Although it is hard work, being a leader in this organization has inspired me to be for who i am today. Not only do i encourage others but i lead and spread positive attitude through Enthusiasm. I have received numerous of awards and outstanding recognitions. Yes, i might be a little nerdy with band but i promise music is a stress relief for everyone. I also love to draw, paint and most of all food- because why not?
My dream life goal is to be a Nurse. I have been having this dream as a child and i don't think about majoring in anything else but in the Medical Field. My plan is to Collin College for two years and receive an associate's in Nursing and then transfer to University of Texas at Arlington for a Bachelor's in Nursing and a certificate in Phlebotomy. I am looking forward to what the future has for me as well as the accomplishments i yet to achieve.
