Juan Renteria

San Antonio, Texas, United States

Hello, my name is Juan Renteria and I am a senior at the beautiful campus of Tom C. Clark High School. I am the President of Student Council, Yearbook Business Manager, and a member of the National Honor Society. Not only am I the President of my own council but I am the President of District XV AASC (Alamo Association of Student Councils). Now that I am done bragging about myself, let’s talk about things that I am interested in.

I love being involved with either my school or community; I think that I always put other people first before I put myself, but I don’t mind. I just loving teaching and helping people, for example my food drive that I do. One of the many projects that I do in Student Council is a Thanksgiving food drive. I’ve done this food drive since my sophomore year and every year we receive more and more donations. When I deliver the food at the end of the drive I love seeing the people’s reaction because they are so appreciative, if I can put a smile on at least one less fortunate person’s face then that puts a smile on my face.

Other things that I love doing are teaching people, teaching them how to become a leader. Since I have been President since my junior year I have seen my officers become new people. I’ve pushed a lot of them out of their comfort zone and tried to teach them leadership skills that I have been taught before them but not only do I teach them, they usually teach me. I feel that being involved with both my school and community has really taught me a lot, a lot about people and about myself. A little bit more about what I want to do in the future is to be able to go to college and major in Business of Administration and either go into advertising or management. But now I kind have to wrap things up because I could talk forever about myself, but I just want to end with this. I am a learner but not only that, I am a LEADER.
