Judah Ari Gross
Tel Aviv, Israel
Judah Gross was born in Philadelphia. After graduating from high school he took a year off before enrolling at the University of Maryland and traveled to Israel. He began studying journalism at UMD in fall 2008, even editing the campus Jewish magazine, The Mitzpeh. He has worked at a few publications: The Washington Post, Heeb Magazine, The Prince George's Sentinel and New Voices. Judah wrote, took photographs and shot video for the News21 national project on food safety, looking at how pathogens are controlled on poultry farms (like the one in this background picture).
In 2011, Judah moved to Israel and served as an army photographer in the IDF Spokesperson Unit.
Judah got out of the army in 2014 and now spends his time taking pictures, writing stuff and translating.
