Recently published novel, entitled Chosen Commander in Chief, describes the air force career of a woman who retires as a brigadier general. When her senator husband is killed in a helicopter accident in Afghanistan she is appointed to his senate seat and four years later is drafted to run for president.
I served as an education and training officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1981 in a variety of positions at all levels of command to include Basic Military Training Officer, Technical Training Squadron Commander, and Miitary Studies Instructor at the Air Force Academy. I also served as Chief of the Special Planning Staff for the admission of women cadets. After medical retirement I served as a management analyst and contract administrator for the U.S. Navy in Pensacola, FL. I performed management studies and cost comparison studies for areas targeted for contracting out at the Naval Hospital. As contract administrator for Training Air Wing SIX, NAS Pensacola, I served as contract administrator for the Naval Flight Officer Training System. After retiring from civil service I obtained a Masters Degree in Counseling and worked as a marriage and family counselor.
