I know my love of photography came from my dad, who was a public relations photographer; he put me in front of his camera for the first 15 years of my life. The encouragement to pursue that love comes from my husband who sees to it that I have all the toys I need.
My desire to take photos did not pique until my first child was born, as is so common, I had to memorialize her every movement on film. Snapshots became portraits and then expanded to a world outside my children and the backyard (although I still like walking around my garden with the camera). I took photography classes at the local community college and so my journey began. Back in those "olden days" it was film and darkroom chemicals. I fought the digital age for a long time professing that only film was true photography. Well now Lightroom has replaced my darkroom and pixels have replaced chemicals.
