Juka’s Organic Co. was established in 2013 by Juka Ceesay. After owning an African food market in the City of Inglewood, CA in 2008 for a few years. Juka realized there was a lack of authentic, unrefined, pure, and natural food & beauty products in the United States from Africa that were made available to the American mainstream. With the help of her mother, Juka soon after started importing just the red palm oil, which she branded and made available in her food market and sold online as well. Juka still faced some challenges to cross over to mainstream. In 2013, Ceesay was thrilled to have Dr. Oz and the US market take noticed on the extensive health benefits of Red Palm Oil. Juka seized the opportunity to put her brand in the hands of mainstream consumers that are health conscious. She always wanted to give back to African women. Growing up she saw her mother run a business without any formal education but prospered and help paid for some of her education along with her siblings’.
