Julia Karmo

Berlin

I am an experienced journalist / editor producing and self-shooting news features from my base in Berlin. I also consult and train on best practices of using social media in breaking news situations.

Until autumn 2014 I was a Foreign News editor at Sky News, before that I ran the Russia bureau for Sky news, producing a stream of original features from Russia and beyond, and coordinating live coverage of high-profile events, such as presidential elections, G8 Summit and Champion's league summit.

My recent field assignments include producing coverage of the refugee crisis for Sky News. I also field produced the coverage of the FIFA scandal, Germanwings crash, Berlin Wall Anniversary coverage, and Crimea takeover.

I co-organise Popathon Berlin, hackathon for storytellers.
