Julia Nichols

Julia Nichols was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. From a young age she enjoyed taking photos. She received her first camera at twelve and was intrigued ever since. She loved the creativity that was involved with creating something with your own vision in mind. She had always been interested in the arts, but there was something about photography that sparked her interest.

When she was in high school she received an award for her communications technology class. In addition she learned about developing film, and working on editing techniques with Photoshop. She was involved with the school yearbook, and took many senior photos. In the twelfth grade she took a digital imagery course at Sir Sandford Fleming College. When she went to college it only made sense to choose photography as a future career. So she enrolled at Durham College in Oshawa in the fall of 2013.

Portrait photography has always been a center focus for Julia. Being able to interact with people and come together to create something with someone’s image in mind always intrigued her. She has previously taken freelance portraits in her spare time. It has always been what she has wanted to do since pursuing photography.

Apart from taking photos her main interest is music. Music has always been apart of her life. She loves attending concerts and finding new artists in her spare time. She hopes to one day combine her love of music and photography to be able to photograph musicians and live shows.

In addition she hopes to one day travel the world and take photos on her journey.
