Short Hills, NJ
Born and raised outside New York City in Short Hills, New Jersey by a California free spirit and a text book New Yorker. Growing up so close to New York City I was exposed to the extremely creative people that occupied it before I could walk; living in the suburbs didnt mean my life had to be dull and my parents made sure of that. Ever since then I have been energized and inspired by the different people I meet and it has fueled my curiosity about the world we live in. Living so close to New York has taught me two things: to always put your best foot forward and, when in doubt, wear black.
I credit new york with my interest in the fashion industry which has influenced my decison to pursue a degree in fashion merchanding at the University of Delaware. A degree that I hope will lead me to career in visual merchandising or public relations in New York where I can excel in the one industry inwhich creativity and business are equally important, the fashion industry. In college, I have been able to take advantage of getting more involved in the industry by being a member of UDress, a school fashion magazine as well as assistant apparel chair for my sorority, positions that allow me to be both analytical and creative. I hope to expand my knowledge of art, design and business while studying abroad this upcoming fall in Paris.
