About Musta Kulta

This blog began as part of a desire to share my passion for specialty coffee while bringing together people who share this passion. It is my hope that we will be able to share the work of diverse contributors from all levels of coffee industry expertise and showcase the people involved in every level and process of coffee production.

I have seen the power a cup of coffee has to bring people together, and it is my hope that going beyond simply reporting on the final product will help forge connections and introduce the reader to the people behind the coffee in their cup.

About Julia

Julia is a 28 year old living in Helsinki, Finland

A hairdresser by trade, Julia has worked on photo and video sets in New York City and Helsinki. Although Julia has been drinking coffee since she was 12, and working sporadically in cafes since she was 18, her move to Helsinki in 2013 and subsequent participation in Freese Coffee Academy ignited her interest in the specialty coffee industry.

Musta Kulta began as a way to keep learning about coffee, and to connect with similarly passionate individuals. We welcome submissions and content in Finnish, English, and Swedish. Please send them to [email protected]!
