Julia Channel

Though it seems implausible, Julia Channel has accomplished both of the above, and all while she is still young. Whereas many people would be content to have a single career and a family, a juggling act in itself, not so Julia Channel who consistently strives to push herself forward and achieve more.

Where does such drive come? In the case of Julia Channel, the answer lies in her upbringing. Born and raised in Paris, her father was more often than not at work, while her mother struggled with an addiction to alcohol. In the absence of defined parental figures, a young Julia Channel took it upon herself to look after her siblings and her ill mother. Far from martyring herself to this less than idyllic childhood, Julia Channel actually credits it as being the main reason that she is so focused, determined and hard working now.

Despite a tough upbringing, Julia Channel did not allow her education to suffer, passing all of her exams with ease, she went on to enroll at Parisian Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle to study literacy and foreign languages, with a view to becoming an interpreter. Fate however had a different plan for Julia Channel and after being discovered as a model, she quickly left university behind in favour of film roles and later, a singing career.

With music as her biggest passion and the driving force behind her enthusiasm, Julia Channel actively pursued a career within music. Using her modelling credentials to their full advantage, she became the face of ‘Homecore’, a Hip Hop clothing brand, and then the presenter of ‘Hip Hop Channel’, a well known programme on the French MCM network. Not only did this give Julia Channel the chance to perform with people such as Kaysha, Cutee B, Rene De Wael and Bambi Cruz, but she also interviewed the likes of Alicia Keys and Janet Jackson.
