Julia Hadricky, Psy.D.
Professional Background
I am originally from Maryland, and graduated with my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Maryland College Park. For graduate training, I earned my M.S. in Psychology and ultimately graduated with my doctoral degree in 2010 from the Florida Institute of Technology, a small, private university with a Psy.D. program based on the Practitioner-Scholar model. I completed my 2,000 hour APA approved pre-doctoral internship at the University of South Florida Counseling Center with a three-month external rotation in the outpatient mental health clinic at the James A. Haley Tampa VA.
I relocated to Northern California in 2010 to complete my postdoctoral residency at the Santa Clara Kaiser Permanente Department of Adult Psychiatry. Upon completion of my residency, I was fortunate enough to join the department full-time as a staff psychologist.
My goal as a clinician is to develop a collaborative relationship with each of my patients, and provide support as we explore the biological, psychological, and social factors contributing to your presenting concern. During the exploration process, I seek to gain clear understanding of what you are experiencing, while assisting you in developing new insights and enhanced self-awareness.
I approach therapy with a warm, open, and non-judgmental stance. I understand that psychiatric treatment can be difficult to undertake and respect your unique treatment needs as an individual. Based on your personal goals in therapy, I guide you in implementing new behaviors, and learning new skills necessary to make desired life changes. I also find the therapeutic relationship itself a powerful tool in therapy, and utilize our relationship to facilitate growth and change. I feel truly honored to be able to walk with each of you for a brief portion of your life journey.
