Is it terminal?
Hurrying, bustling, stressing passengers, battling to get through the nightmare that is security. Departures, connections, and arrivals, the pressure to find a way to my ultimate destination without delay. Like the chaotic struggle in an airport terminal, my writing moves this way and that, zigzags on tangents with unknown destinations. Oftentimes I get stuck in place, furiously trying to get ahead with my work, but to no avail, much like the voyager inches through customs and bag checks. Finally, when I am released from the gridlock that consumes my brain, ideas flow out of my head, passengers eager for the journey ahead, or joyful to see the ones they have missed. No longer is the purpose of my writing foggy; I know where my gate is, and I’m half an hour early. I am certain of what I put on the page; words find their rightful place, passengers in line for the departing plane that is my finished work.
