Juliana Hall

Juliana Hall is primarily known as a composer of classical art songs.

Her music has been performed in 24 countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, including concerts at the Library of Congress and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, as well as the Norfolk Chamber Music, Ojai, and Tanglewood summer music festivals. Radio broadcasts include BBC and NPR.

After receiving a Master's degree in Music Composition from the Yale School of Music, she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in Music Composition in 1989. Among her commissions are two from the Schubert Club of St. Paul, Minnesota, one for a song cycle for soprano Dawn Upshaw (Night Dances) and one for a song cycle for baritone David Malis (Winter Windows).
