Juliana Ng

My name is Juliana Ng, studying corporate finance and chinese language and literature at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. My passion is serving and improving the lives of the underprivileged population back in Quincy, MA, my hometown. This passion began when I started volunteering for Quincy Asian Resources Inc. (QARI) back in ninth grade. As a youth board member, our whole team planned one of the biggest festivals in the town and a college venture workshop that focused on helping students and parents, whose second language is English, to get a deeper understanding of the college application process. Even after graduating from high school, I worked for QARI as a teacher's assistant at a summer school program with students ranging from grades 5 to 8. Most students are either recent immigrants or English second language speakers. Witnessing their progress in class really touched me and made this the most meaningful job I've ever had. Walking out of the program, I can proudly say that I've made a direct impact on all 16 of my students. In addition, my other interests are in fashion, marketing, event planning, traveling, and learning different languages. Next semseter I plan to study abroad in Hong Kong, discovering the world as well as rediscovering myself! One day, I hope to start up my own business but in the meantime, I'm looking for an internship in banks, insurance companies, etc. to see if I really belong in the finance industry.
