I am an experienced professional and accomplished academic with a diverse range of interests and expertise. A typical question I'm asked is why management consulting? Whilst I'd like to say it's in my blood, that would contradict my firm belief that anything can be taught and, by extension, anything can be learnt.
A more thoughtful and honest answer would be that, to this day, I find it difficult to limit myself to a particular industry, position or skillset. Rather, I am driven by challenge and the opportunity to solve problems, and thoroughly enjoy being a catalyst for change. I am energised by people and, for as long as I can remember, have been motivated by a deep intellectual curiosity. I search for patterns, derive immense pleasure from making sense out of complexity, distilling information and articulating it to others. I also enjoy 'rocking the boat', with the view to spark discussion and inspire new ideas and ways of thinking.
Switching between analytical and creative thinking is my specialty and I generally need both to keep me interested and provide balance to my life. If this can't be achieved in the workplace, I pursue creative or analytical outlets at home, through music production, creative writing, applied research and communicating with others to harness and focus individual efforts towards a common goal. Yes, I even use a structured approach to innovation and entrepreneurialism subconsciously... for fun.
I've recently created a WordPress blog, which I will use to publish some of my thoughts on relevant topics in the field based on my 'extracurriculum' research. My LinkedIn profile is also now up and running, so feel free to check it out using the link below - I'm always happy to extend my networks and, if geographically plausible, to catch up for a quick coffee and a chat.
You can also reach out to me via email. I'd love to hear from like-minded individuals - and from those who are the polar opposite! If two parties are passionate about a topic, amazing things can happen; especially when beginning at opposite ends.
