Julianna Birlin

Student, Writer, and advocate in Los Angeles, CA

I am a journalist and aspiring lawyer. I write to share the experiences of people from a variety of different communities with the hope of bringing awareness to the political, economic, and social issues that affect people. As an agent of change, I am passionate about promoting social justice through civil rights advocacy work.

I am a junior economics and journalism double-major. I am currently a research assistant for the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, a think tank studying diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry. I currently serve as the VP of Social Impact of the Women's Leadership Society at USC Annenberg.

Previously, I have interned with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing where I worked in the legal department. I am also a former member of the Dornsife Trial Advocacy Program, where I competed in mock trials and worked on public service law projects.
