Julianne Wurm is an entrepreneur, educator and cultural curator. As the founder of TEDxEast, Julianne has worked with the top minds of our time, in many cases introducing them to the zeitgeist with unprecedented results.
Julianne is also a noted educator and scholar, having completed her EdD at Columbia University in 2011. She began her teaching career as an educator with Teach for America and worked in schools as a teacher, coach and administrator for the first part of her career. This cemented her love of learning and this continues to shape the research she conducts. Learning informs all aspects of her work. It is her interest in learning about the world and sharing this with others. Julianne’s first book, Working in the Reggio Way was published in 2005 and became a best-seller. It is based on 3 years of research while living in Reggio Emilia, Italy and working in the schools there. Her second book, More Working in the Reggio Way, drawing from the same research and her interactions with educators over the last decade will be published in May 2014.
Julianne Wurm is the founder of R3, a consulting firm that works to create digital content and live experiences across a myriad of platforms. Julianne focuses on the intersection of riveting content and the savvy presentation of that content to gives ideas traction. She uses the results from her own research on the carriers of ideas to help organizations create content and deliver this content in the ways that matter and give ideas legs.
Most recently she has worked with brands such as TED, History Channel, Prudential, William Morris Endeavor and MindBodyGreen. Julianne Wurm is currently completing the analysis and writing about how ideas spread, which used the TEDx program as a case study to look at the cognitive and emotive factors that contribute to the spread of ideas, focused on Carriers.
