Julian Winata
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Julian Winata is a graduate from the Industrial Design program at RMIT University, class 2013. Julian believes that a good design is the design that is innovative. However, innovative design always develops in tandem with innovative technology and can never be an end in itself.
Julian has a variety of experience with different field of design while doing the program. From furniture to product design has all been covered with a satisfactory result. He also built his own 3D printer from a scratch and successfully operate it to help him doing some quick and dirty prototypes. In terms of teamwork, he made a bicycle made of wood and a baton for Commonwealth Games 2018 with his fellow students.
From a very young age, Julian showed people around them that he really likes technology and very curious about it. He liked to break something and try to repair it again. As he grows older, he realized that he could not rebuilt or repair something he broke if he did not understand the design itself. From the day on, he likes to look at design magazines and dreaming to be a designer.
He seeks to introduce Industrial Design to his home country, Indonesia, and established design business in there. He aims to keep on learning about business surrounding Industrial Design as he realizes anything in this world is designed and strategically marketed.
