Julie Cheryl Otieno

Julie is the principal consultant at Traction Communications, a corporate communications agency that she set up after an illustrious 13.5 year career with Ogilvy East Africa.

She is a passionate brand builder, with well-honed skills in strategy and ideation, stakeholder and reputation management, corporate messaging and content creation.

She also trains teams on Client Service, Public Relations, Personal Branding, Public Speaking, Social Media Etiquette and Brand Ambassadorship.

Her career in corporate communications spans more than 15 years, and is accentuated by a host of memorable and exciting assignments; key among them, building Emirates profile in East Africa, rolling out brand ambassadorship programmes for leading beer brands in Eastern Africa, and MDG 4 and 5 advocacy.

She is a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya and the Public Relations Society of Kenya, and also serves as a member of the adjudicating panel in the PRSK Annual Excellence Awards.
