Since 2005, Julie has emerged as a leader in digital media outreach and online communication strategy. She’s spoken at major national conferences and events about the macro-impact of social media and how to use it as an effective tool, particularly for causes.

She launched her own consulting business, Artful Media Group, Inc. in 2005 after moving to Texas, and has built an impressive national client list of companies that range from high tech to health care. She has consulted regularly with Women Online, The DeBerry Group, and Zoetica Media (where she is an associate).

Julie sits on the American Cancer Society’s Blogger Advisory Council, and she helped launch the new Choose You campaign as co-founder and managing editor of the Choose You blog. She also managed the Blue Star Museums program for Blue Star Families, a support organization for military families, in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Arts.

Her book about autism, Meet My Brother, sold out through three print runs. Julie was named one of “The Stir’s” 30 Political Mom Bloggers Who Will Change Your Vote, has consulted with national and local political campaigns, is an editor at Savvy Source, and is a contributor to MOMocrats.

Julie worked on the award-winning project, American Red Cross Emergency Social Data Summit, designed to revolutionize emergency response through social media. Since then, she’s watched this effort grow and take hold. She’s continued her efforts in disaster assistance on a volunteer basis, too, including co-creating and supporting the Hurricane Sandy Relief Resources Facebook page.

She is a true believer that one can never have too much fresh Pico de Gallo or too many books to read.
