Julie is the founder and principal of BellaVia Research, a qualitative consulting boutique. She is also on retainer with Socratic Technologies as Qualitative Research Director, where until 2000 she worked as Senior Vice President of Accounts.

Prior to launching BellaVia Research, Julie worked with Creative Good in New York City and San Francisco as an online user experience strategy consultant, utilizing customer research to create strategies and interface designs that the transform online user experience. This experience sets Julie apart from other usability practitioners: her research produces the strategic insights that drive high-level decisions and the tactical insights that optimize interface design. Early in her career, Julie worked in the San Francisco office of Audits & Surveys Worldwide. She holds a BA from Wesleyan University and has completed advanced moderator training at the RIVA Institute .

She is based in Santa Cruz, CA where she lives with her husband and two young daughters.
