Julie Johnston

I am primarily an expressionist artist. I work with clay, mixed media and words to experience my inner world in ways which create new meaning and awareness. I am influenced by Eastern philosophies which value nonattachment, radical acceptance, and mindfulness practice. The creative process for me is an uncertain one. This allows me the freedom to relax the mind's vigilance over expectation, outcome, and ego. How will the piece affect me? That's the experience!
