Hire me

My name is Julie Langlois. I am a fourth year Bachelor of Education student, completing my degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. I grew up in Sudbury. In my spare time I enjoy going to the movies, cooking, and going to the gym, where I can be found participating in a Zumba or Strong by Zumba class or working out.

I have a lot of experience working with children of many ages and abilities. For the last two summers I have worked as a summer student for the Rainbow District School Board in their intermediate summer learning program. This job has provided me with experience in classrooms, where many of the students have learning challenges and behavioral needs. I had the experience of working in grade six, providing students with instruction and strategies in mathematics. The second summer I was put into the grade seven and eight language program, in which I was able to administer Fountas and Pinnell reading assessments and I worked with students on reading and reading strategies.

These experiences have affirmed for me that I want to teach. I have given a lot of thought to which age group I would like to teach and due to having experience with children of many ages I have realized that working with primary aged children is where I see myself most. I have also learned that I enjoy working with children with special needs and learning challenges, I find that you can see the results of the work you are doing and can see the impact of the work more immediately when working with students with challenges and complex needs.
