Does every home have to be updated to sell? Absolutely not. There are many homes where it makes no sense to make a few cosmetic changes. Properties that are in poor condition overall are best sold "as is." The price will obviously be lower, but it's by far the best and easiest way to sell a home that needs a lot work.
