Julien Civange is a performer, musician, composer, lyricist, and producer. DJ at age 10 on the French underground radio "Carbone 14", then musical reporter for the major French magazines, radio and TV stations, he leaves the world of media at the age of 17. At 16, Civange created the rock band La Place, with his friend Louis Haeri. In its very first version the band sounds like a mix of punk energy and funk music. David Bowie who wanted the "best beginners band of the moment" invited La Place to open his show with Tin Machine. Following a Tour Sauvage and hundreds of live shows including openingsfor the Simple Minds (1995) and the Rolling Stones (Olympia 1995). From there, the band who had never had a label until then signed with an indie one and recorded their first and only album. In 1998, Julien Provided artistic direction, produced and launched the « Emmaüs Anniversary Album » bringing together a wide group of artists from Joe Strummer to les Rita Mitsouko. Its more "abstract" happening is Music2titan : 4 musical themes composed with Louis Haeri that were placed on board ESA's Huygens probe in October 1997 among children’s drawing and signatures. Their vocation is to "strengthen ESA and NASA's Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and Titan with the aim to leave trace of our humanity to the unknown and build awareness about this adventure". The music has reached Titan on January 2005 after a 7 years and 4 billion kilometer journey. Never will human signs have traveled and landed so far (More infos : ESA).
In 2010, Julien Civange Developed the creative strategy, designed and executed the Born HIV Free Campaign across 11 European countries, to create widespread awareness and support for the millennium goal of a generation of children born AIDS-Free.
Julien also composes and produces music for films, for play, or art Installations.
