Julie Spaur

After about 15 years in a cubicle working for the State of Iowa, I began to realize there is more to life if I was just brave enough to go after it. I quit my job, cashed out my retirement and moved to Florida. I am now co-owner of 1st Rate Pet Services in Ocala. When I am not caring for our adorable furry clients, I am a writer and also taking classes towards a therapeutic recreation degree. I want to be able to help people realize that there are endless opportunities out there for doing work you love on your own terms and being able to make a living at it. Stepping out of my comfort zone was very scary, but I am more alive and eager to face each day than I have been in a very long time. We all have our own unique talents and interests and should be able to share them with each other and with the world. Ask yourself what you would do with your life if money wasn't an object and then begin to figure out ways to do it. I did, and I couldn't be happier! Remember that life is about the journey, not the destination! Take a chance and start your own adventure that will lead you to your dream life.
