Awarded a BAFTA for her performance as Dorothea in the BBC's MIDDLEMARCH, she went on to take leading roles in many highly acclaimed feature films: WELCOME TO SARAJEVO , IRIS, THE CONSTANT GARDENER, LOOK TO THE SKY , and STILL CRAZY amongst them. Awards earnt for her performances in these films include : La Boule,The Efebo d'Oro, The Broadcasting Press Guild, and a Golden Globe nomination.

Well known recent roles for television include the time travelling villain Helen Cutter in PRIMEVAL ,Marie in FIVE DAUGHTERS , Queen Elizabeth in BERTIE AND ELIZABETH , Orla Fante in HUNTED, Isabella in MEASURE FOR MEASURE ,and Joy in THE VILLAGE.

Always returning to the stage,her first love, her theatre credits include: IVANOV (The National) ; SUMMERFOLK (The National ) ; AN OAK TREE ( Soho Theatre) ; THE THREE SISTERS , TWELFTH NIGHT , and MUCH ADO ANOUT NOTHING (Cry Havoc) ; THE LONG MIRROR (Theatre Clwyd) ; THE TEMPEST (The Oxford Stage Company), and THE COLLECTION ( Kings' Players). She also spent 6 months developing devised pieces with Haris Pasovic's Sarajevo International Theatre Company, in Amsterdam.

Juliet is an activist for human rights , and is Ambassador for Women for Women International.

She is an extreme sport enthusiast, marathon runner, and keen rower: she recently took part in The Great London River Race, rowing a Cornish gig 26 miles down the river Thames, for Women for Women International.

Juliet has two daughters Lola-Blue and Blythe, and is married to the Production Designer Steve Ritchie.
