Juliette Hansen
Student and Filmmaker in Ogden, Utah
I am a studying Film production at Salt Lake Community College. I wrote and directed a short film called "Color The World" about a mother and her Deaf daughter who swap places in order to understand each other. My film has been shown at Weber state University and on KSL news.
I was born in New York City and grew up in Connecticut. I am the oldest of 5 children. I was born with normal hearing, but I lost most of my hearing at age 17. I learned American Sign Language and went to Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.. Gallaudet is the only university in the world specifically for Deaf people.
I have 3 grown children, Aaron age 25, Andrew age 23, and McKenzie age 19, and one dog named Foxy.
My goal is to become a writer/director and make films for the Deaf community, as well as for those who can hear, to bridge that gap.
