Julie Umerle

Julie Umerle is an American born London-based contemporary artist.

Umerle received a 1st-class Honours degree from Falmouth University, Cornwall, followed by a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Exploring similarity, repetition and difference within each group of paintings, in series that are consistently open-ended, her practice is an investigation of materials and perception of the image.

Julie Umerle has exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally, and is the recipient of a number of awards from Arts Council England. Her work is represented in public and private collections worldwide including Deutsche Bank, Societe Generale and Pinsent Masons LLP.

In 2019, her debut book 'Art, Life and Everything: A memoir' was published in London as a limited edition. The book is available at amazon.co.uk, Waterstones and Foyles as well as at a number of independent bookshops.
