THE NEWBERRY FOUNDATION

The Newberry Foundation is a non profit 501c3 organization created to preserve the rich history of Hawkinsville Georgia; provide education opportunity for youth and strengthen community. The Newberry Foundation builds upon the rich tradition of community service of the Newberry family-one of the oldest African American families in middle Georgia. The Newberry family traces it's roots to the mid 1700's in middle Georgia. Throughout their numerous generations the Newberrys have endured tremendous challenges, but relied on their faith in God, commitment to family and pursuit of education. The family's work continues to serve the poor and underserved today through the Newberry Foundation.
