Julyn S. Pride

Tolland, CT.

Officially, my writers name is Julyn S. Pride, but my real name is June Mita. I have been writing poetry since I was 15. I have been a journalist for The Regional Standard in Colchester, CT and The Journal Inquirer of Manchester, CT. My online journalism is with Now Public. My poets page appears on PoemHunter.com.

My other self -published works includes Penobscot Woman, A Journey to Enlightenment, Chronicles of Wabaquasset, and my latest book of poetry called Facets. The book combines the art of poetry with the art of photography. It can be purchased on
Amazon. See link below.

I am currently making my latest written work available free on Booksie.com. The work is entitled Diary Of A Lower Middle Class American. It is from my journals I kept throughout the George H. W. Bush administration, from Jan. 22, 2001 through January 21, 2008. It covers one regular Americans views of issues such as politics, religion, family life with a teen age daughter, and the peer pressure involved in being lower middle class in an upper middle class town. Here is the link, but it is also listed on the bottom of this page. http://www.booksie.com/memoir/novel/julyn_pride/diary-of-a-lower-middle-class-american/chapter/1

It is not fully up on the website, but I will be adding new chapters daily as i transcribe the original handwritten copy.

My photojournalism has appeared in the above cited venues as well as on numerous Connecticut websites. I have photographed many Penguin plunges throughout the state, and have been involved with a photography farm project for Connecticut called Market Roots. My interest in the enviroment is leading to other photo and journalistic opportunities.

I have been involved with photographing the Connecticut stocking of local rivers and lakes through the CT. DEP. I also am involved with photographing the tobacco farming industry in our state, as well as local small farms throughout Connecticut.

If you have news tips in Connecticut, let me know. I will review the story and send it to Now Public. I am especially interested in cultural news, farm news, and environmental news.

My photos and paintings are also available to purchase, matted, framed or unmatted.
